2016 Election Campaign

Whether you are a "fan" of Bernie Sanders or not, it is, in my opinion, usually worthwhile to listen to what the "other" guy has to say.

BTW, this blog IS NOT for anyone who wants someone else to make up their mind.  This blog is for critical thinkers only.

Speech by Bernie Sanders:  Cut and paste URL below into your browser address bar.

I have always had a real problem with words and phrases like "I feel", "I think" and so forth when they are used in argument and critical discussion.  I can NEVER know what you "think" or "feel", regardless of how many words you wrap around them.  ONLY YOU can know that.

Having said that, basing action (like casting a vote) on FACTS is no more meaningful or effective than casting a vote based on "feelings", but counts just as much as one cast by a critical thinker.  You see, that's the "fly in the ointment" of Democracy, isn't it.  You know, "majority rule" and all that stuff (yes even in a representative democracy like ours).

Advertisers know very well that most purchases are made on the basis of FEELINGS !!!

And what is a political campaign but and advertising campaign.  So if you expect to get many real facts from political rhetoric (read Bullshit), you might as well believe in Peter Pan, Santa Clause and unicorns.
